HALIFAX, Nova Scotia-  The Entrepreneurial Development Conference and Expo (EDCE)—Atlantic Canada’s largest conference and networking event for small business owners—today announced that Emmy winning TV personality turned entrepreneurial expert Susan Solovic is partnering with EDCE in its mission to strengthen the region’s economy through networking and education by participating in the Halifax event, taking place April 28-29, 2017, at the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre.

A The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal best-selling author, Solovic joins a lineup of 40 successful local, national and international entrepreneurs and experts who will share insights, experiences and best practices with more than 500 small business owners who will be attending the event. Confirmed speakers currently include Murray Coolican, the Nova Scotia Deputy Minister of Business; Alex MacLean, the CEO of East Coast Lifestyle Clothing Inc.; Jeffrey Russo, a Senior Manager at HubSpot; Saeed El-Darahali, President and CEO of Simply Cast; and Wadih Fares, the President and CEO of W.M. Fares Group. The event will be hosted by Ron Lovett, Founder of the recently acquired Source Security and Investigations Inc.

“We’re very excited to have thought leaders such as Susan joining us for this event,” says Liam Byrne, the CEO of EDCE. “We’ve put together an incredible array of speakers and content that is relevant, real-world and actionable for Atlantic Canada’s small business community. We know that attendees will leave this conference with bold new ideas and practices that they will be able to implement with immediate results for their businesses.”

Designed to fill a resource gap for small business owners, the EDCE is generating considerable interest among Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs, with 40 per cent of available tickets already sold. “We knew there was strong interest in this event throughout the region, but the blocks of tickets are selling far quicker than we’d anticipated,” says Matthew Vincenti, the CMO of EDCE. “Part of that is due to early bird pricing, which is in effect until February 26. But it speaks volumes about the quality of the speakers we’ve secured. We believe the knowledge they share will lead to more competitive, resilient small businesses, which are the backbone of our region’s economy.”

The Atlantic Canadian EDCE is the first of eight conferences that Byrne and Vincenti have planned for North America over the next 2 years. Anticipation for these events has resulted in waitlists filling up for the EDCE Saskatoon and Winnipeg conferences, taking place in late 2017.
